FAQ - Service Contracts
Q.   1. What sort of Service Contracts do you have?


A.   We have two types of Service Contracts. A full Parts and Labour cover on individual major appliances purchased from LV Martins, and a composite Labour Only contract that covers LV Martin purchases and selected purchases from other local sources.



Q.   2. What is a Major Appliance?


A.   A major appliance is an item our servicemen will come to your home to repair. Generally defined as all whiteware and consumer electronics appliances larger than a microwave.



Q.   3. What are defined as Whiteware Appliances?


A.   Refrigerators, Freezers, Washing Machines, Dryers, Dishwashers, Ranges, Wall Ovens, Cooktops are all classed as Whiteware appliances.



Q.   4. What are defined as Consumer Electronic Appliances?


A.   Televisions, Video Recorders, Digital Video Players and Recorders, Stereo Components, Stereo Systems, Video Cameras, Digital Cameras, are all what we call Consumer Electronic Appliances.



Q.   5. Do you cover Small Appliances?


A.   Yes, on our Labour Only Total Household Contract. These appliances need to be brought into a LV Martin’s outlet for repair.



Q.   6. What are your service department working hours?


A.   Service is provided on Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am and 5pm (excluding Public Holidays). Service provided outside of these times is deemed to be After Hours Service and will be chargeable.



Q.   8. What are your current Service Charge Rates?


A.   For a Serviceperson to call to your house during normal service hours, the rate will be $70. This rate includes the first 10 minutes of labour. Additional labour is charged at the rate of $12.50 for each ten minute segment or part thereof. Plus the cost of any parts.

After-hours rates are $95 for the housecall and first 10 minutes, with additional labour charged at $17.50 for 10 minutes. For service work on a Public Holiday, the rates are $110 for the housecall and the first 10 minutes, with additional labour charged at $22.50 for 10 minutes.



Q.   9. Do your rates and prices all include GST?


A.   Yes.



Q.   I already have a service contract on my refrigerator and television. What happens to these contracts if I wish to take out a Total Household Contract?


A.   The unused portion of your service contract premiums can either be credited towards your Total Household Premium or refunded to you.
