FAQ - Ordering Spare Parts & Accessories
|
Q.
What details do you require from me, when I am ordering a spare part of accessory?
A.
We will need your name, address, phone numbers, the make and model of the product that you require the spare part or accessory for. We will also ask you, if you require details of the price and the availability before confirming the order.
|
Q.
Can you deliver the ordered part to me?
A.
Yes, we can courier a parcel to any physical address anywhere in New Zealand, but not to a Post Office box. We will require that the order and the courier cost be pre-paid in full. A signature will be required upon receipt of the courier parcel.
|
Q.
Do I have to go to your Ngauranga shop to order parts?
A.
No, you can place an order for parts from any of our shops. However, we have specialised parts salespeople and technicians at Ngauranga, who may be of assistance to you.
|
Q.
Do I need to pay for the item before ordering?
A.
A non-refundable deposit of 30% is required when ordering most readily available stock. If the stock has to be ordered from overseas, or the part ordered is not one that we will ever normally order again, then the full payment for the part is normally required at the time of ordering.

Q.
How do I find out the make, model, and serial number of my appliance?
A.
Nearly all appliances have either a sticker or badge with the product information on it.
On Televisions, Audio or Stereo Systems or Equipment, Video Recorders, Cameras, DVD Players, Telephones, and Fax Machines there will be sticker either at the back of the appliances, or underneath the appliance.
Microwave Ovens have the sticker either at the back of the appliance, or inside the doorframe of the appliance.
Fridges and Upright Freezers will have a silver tag on the bottom sill of the door.
Chest Freezers will have the sticker/tag at the back top of the appliance.
Washing Machines will have the sticker or tag at the top rear of the appliance. This has been deliberately placed upside down to ease identification. You may have to tip the machine slightly towards you to view it.
Dryers may have the sticker either at the rear of the appliance, or on the inside doorframe.
Dishwashers have the sticker/tag inside the unit, on the door edge.
Dishdrawers will have the sticker/tag inside the appliance. You will have to pull the top drawer out; the label should be under the left-hand side between the two drawers.
Waste Disposal Units will have the sticker/tag on the bottom of the appliance. In this case, look under the bench, the sticker should be on the outer case.
Cooktops should have the sticker/tag at the bottom of the appliance as well. You will have to look under the bench for this. This may be not visible if you have an under-bench oven installed as well.
Small Appliances will have a label or tag on the bottom or rear of the appliance.

Q.
If I do order parts, how long will I have to wait until I get them?
A.
The majority of parts or accessories can be obtained within two to four days. The remainder may take two to four weeks. There may be a few parts or accessories that take four to six weeks to obtain, although this is rare.
|
Q.
Is the part that I have ordered, to install myself, going to have a warranty?
A.
As a general rule, parts that have suffered a breakage, are not covered under warranty unless there is a definite product defect with the part.
Technical parts sold over the counter are not covered by LV Martin's policy. This is because these parts are intended for qualified service staff to install and we can take no responsibility once these parts have left out premises. We are not able to take them back and refund you, because we cannot tell if the part was installed correctly and therefore cannot safely re-sell the part).
If you are unsure in any way, that the part you think is required, is not going to cure the problem, and/or you feel your or other user's safety will be compromised, we strongly urge you to request that our qualified service staff complete the repair for you.
Parts can fail due to a series of parts failures or a machine can show a fault that is unrelated to the part that you think maybe required.
Please note that we are not legally able to instruct you on how to fit a technical part(s).

Q.

A.
Generally, we can order most parts or accessories from our suppliers. There are some limitations to this, as a lot depends on the age and the type of the appliance that the parts are for.
|
Q.
What is the best way to contact the Spare Parts Counter at your Ngauranga Superstore?
A.
Ring us on 04 4969899 or send an email to parts@lvmartin.co.nz
|
Q.
What sort of parts will you have available all the time?
A.
Most Fisher & Paykel Whiteware parts (for current models) are available from our Spare Parts department at Ngauranga, and at some shops. We also carry common whiteware accessories such as dryer wall brackets, dryer vent kits, oven trays, vacuum cleaner bags, camera batteries, audio plugs, leads, and adaptors, shaver foils, and cutters. We also carry a comprehensive range of Pudney & Lee accessories.
|
Q.
Where can I obtain spare parts or accessories from?
A.
All of our shops carry a range of the most commonly requested spare parts and accessories, however the Spare Parts Counter, at our Ngauranga Gorge Superstore, has stock of, or has access to, a wide range of spare parts for all appliances that we sell.
|
Q.
Why would there sometimes be a delay in getting my ordered spare parts from your suppliers? And why are some parts not available at all?
A.
We can source Fisher & Paykel Whiteware parts for older appliances (within limits) within a few days.
However, parts for Consumer Electronic appliances are generally ordered in as and when they are required. This is because when a product is first manufactured, some parts are made in a large production run and thereafter only manufactured and supplied on a one-off basis. This results in an occasional but considerable time delay.
Availability may become a problem when the appliances reaches the age of about five to seven years since manufacture.
