FAQ - Dehumidifiers
Q.   1. My dehumidifier does not remove much water?

A.   The amount of water your dehumidifier removes depends on many factors: these include

    1. The level of humidity (dampness) in the room
    2. The room temperature (the warmer the room the more moisture will be removed)
    3. The setting on the unit.

If your unit has AUTO features, with it set to about 75%, the dehumidifier will reduce the humidity (dampness) to 75%, and then maintain it there.

With the unit set to AUTO 60%, the dehumidifier will reduce the humidity (dampness) to 60% and then maintain it there.

With the unit set to HIGH or LOW, the dehumidifier will keep reducing the humidity continuously. High indicates high fan speed, and Low indicates low fan speed.

Q.   2. Why is there still condensation on the windows in the morning?

A.   The dehumidifier can take a few weeks to reduce the moisture in your home to an acceptable level. This is best done by setting the unit to HIGH and leaving it on 24 hours a day. We also recommend that the unit is moved from room to room, every few days.

After an initial few weeks, the unit can then be set to a lower setting, and this will maintain the humidity at your desired level.

On cold mornings, there may still be a small amount of condensation on the windows.

Q.   3. Can I leave my Dehumidifier turned on 24 hours a day?

A.   No problem. The unit can be left running unattended. It will switch off automatically when the tanks gets full or the required humidity is reached.

Q.   4. Why does the noise level of the dehumidifier fluctuate?

A.   On dehumidifiers that have an AUTO function, when this is mode is operating, the compressor in the unit will turn off and on. This can be observed by an increase in volume.

Q.   5. Can I drink the water that has been collected in the tank?

A.   It is not advisable to drink this water as it can contain dust particles. Remove water that has been collected in the tank.

Accidental drinking of the water, or using it for other purposes may cause illness and/or unforeseen accidents.
